Algae blooms can pose a serious threat to ecosystems. As temperatures rise, many invasive species become more active, outcompeting native plants, insects and fish for resources. Agricultural run-off from livestock into our waterways intensifies pollution and encourages rapid growth of certain species including Parrots Feather, Pennywort and Water Ferns.
