In a time where 80% of England is classified as rural, these places are still deeply misunderstood, often romanticised or ignored. Sandy lane resists the pastoral idyll. Instead, it explores the rural as a site of environmental friction, shaped by modern farming practices, biodiversity collapse, and shifting land use. My photographs consider how agriculture has shaped the British countryside and how the industry of farming, rooted in community hangs in the balance between tradition and sustainability.
