Paula Davies

As a photographer based in the Southwest of England, my work explores the intricate balance between conservation and the traditions of agricultural life. Fascinated by this complex relationship, my interest centres on how these tensions play out and how photography can act as a communicator of the many different ideas within the rural narrative. Using a range of digital techniques to amplify and reframe the landscape, my images challenge the viewer to reconsider the boundaries between nature and human activity. I use the camera to question the concept of ‘natural’ spaces and to investigate our physical and emotional relationship with the land. Through this approach, I create narratives that reflect both my conceptual practice and awareness of environmental matters.
